Yes, your reserve time will probably be shorter than those hired 8-12 months ago if they keep bringing classes on every 2 weeks.

Couple guys in my class lived in a house just across the VA border in NC, just a hundred yards or so from the beach. They said it was about 45 minutes to ORF but the price was right (I don't remember but CHEAP), the location was right, and there were 4-6 AWAC folks living there.

Not to dredge up an old rumor but RDU wouldn't be a bad place to live; fairly cheap and lots of overnights there so once off reserve you might get a decent amount of nights home, plus you could drive to ORF if you had to. There are maybe a dozen flights a day between RDU and DCA on Airways and Eagle.

AWAC ALPA actually does what it's supposed to do. In general the union doesn't take %$*@ from the company.

Thats great because our union can get anything through to our management here at TSA. I felw my last day on Monday. I'll miss th ERJ and its auto start and auto ICE. Good plane, but I'll gladly work harder for a better company. I've moved to 6 cities in 4 states in 2 years. I'm ready to settle down but looks like I'll have to crash pad it for a while with my stuff in storage just to make ends meet. Can you make good money on reserve at AWAC. I was doing well sitting 6 days in a row of airport reserve at TSA with 5 hrs towards guarantee per day. Whats it like at AWAC?

I had two schoolmates in my newhire class at AWAC that were ex-TSA; both said they made more based on guarantee at AWAC than they did flying a line at TSA. Is that accurate, I dunno...but I don't think they'd lie about it.

I currently commute from RDU. There are 15 flts/day direct. Eagle usually has about 10 seats open min. on each flt. I kinda like their schedule a little better as well.
