Default First DH8 Passenger Experience

I just got off my first DH8 experience as a passenger, flying out of PGV on Piedmont. It was definitely LOUD since my seat was right by the prop. I was impressed with how roomy it was inside. I thought it was better than the ERJ 135, 145 or or any of the CRJ's I've flown on. As a passenger, I almost would rather fly on on the DH8 than any of the above. It was fun to fly on, and I can only imagine what it's like to fly it.

I'm also curious about Piedmont's crew make up. The captain on my flight looked to be in his 50's, which surprised me a little bit, with the FO looking fairly young. Is the crew makeup older at Piedmont, or was mine just a unique experience?

Piedmont is a fairly senior company most of our capts are 35+, however we do have some young whipersnappers as FO's. Thanks for the compliment on the flight and your right it is fun to fly.

Haha the best is when people get on the Dash-8 300 and say "why do we have to ride on this tiny plane, we flew in an RJ last time, it was so much bigger". I may be biased, but I would rather ride in the back of a Dash any day. Glad you had a good flight.

Ha! My -400 is bigger than 99% of the RJs out there, so I would love to hear them say that!

My first time on the dash was out of Durango Colorado and I was really impressed with how quiet it was. I was used to flying on the Great Lakes 1900d which to me are really loud inside.

I have flown in the back of the saab, dash-8, atr, erj, and the crj; of all of those the dash and the atr had the roomiest cabins and the nicest rides. to bad the population sees a propellor and thinks that it makes it dangerous.
