For all ya'll considering Eagle

My dad is down in Dallas for recurrent this month. He was telling me that AE had another class of fourteen that they had to cancel, again, because of a lack in attendence. Apparently Eagle has been having problems like this since January. At any rate, my dad was telling me that Eagle has lowered their minimum flight requirements from 800tt/100me to 300tt/100me. Also, there was a time recently during which the mins were 500tt/100me.

With AA recalling guys and AE trying to expand, it is reasonable to think that the upgrade time will go down. Although, the current most junior jet captain was highered in '99.

Lastly, AE's web-site still shows the mins at 800tt/100me but just like a lot of other regionals, it seems they're just too lazy to change it.

So, use this info as you see fit.

Cheers,
-Danzig

I had to fight to get an interview with those guys at 1500/300 ! I guess today I could just skip the whole ASEL thing...

Harsh. When was that, and where do you fly now? If you don't mind my asking, I'm just curious.

When they first started hiring after 9/11. I'm at SKW now.

Actually there was a guy at my interview who had 3000+ hours of CFI. He had gotten hired by eagle in SEP 2001, class got canx, so he went bcak and spent two MORE years as a CFI.

Those were rough times for everyone. I had a former instructor who was in the sim for XJet on 9/11. They send them home that day.

At least he got a seniority number out of the deal.

Except last I heard, he stuck with the 135 world after that. Those were the days when you needed some real turbine experience to just get an interview. I think he's flying Lear 60s now.

Coming from someone who recently finished AE training, I haven't seen any issues in class sizes. The past 5 at least had 20+ new hires.
