March '21 Hiring Update
Courtesy of FAPA
|
Piedmont doesn't have any plans to hire as far as I know. We took in 36 guys from our existing pool, but as recently as a few days ago they've said that we're not hiring for the foreseeable future. It wouldn't shock me in the least if that changes, but officially we are not hiring in April.
|
What are some stats of recent street hires?
I'm guess mostly guys who already have an ATP and some 121 experience. Anyone get hired at the mins? |
Applying is like the lottery, can't win without playing but as someone with 121 time, ATP etc - the phone is not ringing off the hook. So it's good news there is some things opening up but I still think it will be sometime until getting an interview will come quickly.
|
Can someone do the math on what the odds of having job offers only with the airlines that aren’t hiring are? I think my students are starting to realize I’m losing my mind.
|
Every PDT guy I run into has nothing but good things to say about pay, QOL, and morale. I had no idea how good things were going with them guys and how sharp the management team is.
Sounds like a great time to be a PDT pilot. They're putting themselves in a position to be the premier AA WO'd. |

no F, no wifi, no overhead bins. All of that has zero to do with the employees but 100% with the pax |

simply impossible with an all-WSCOD fleet.

dedication to the art of commercial flying. I wouldn't be surprised if Daddy AA has big plans for them.

My phone has not stopped ringing from all the young CFI's I know looking for info about Piedmont. These kids are excited to get into the airline world via PDT. Maybe things are picking up after all.

this is embarrassing really, but hell if it isn’t like watching a train wreck...I know I should turn away but it’s just so damn awe inspiring.

Where else would places be hiring FO’s if not, “off the street?”

The AA wholly owned carriers keep a pool of highly qualified, up-and-coming talent in cadet programs. This way they are emerged in AA's policies and are monitored for performance.
Kooj, is that you? |

Get your story straight, dude. Over on the SWA thread you pose as a ex-SWA pilot who left the industry.

Uh huh. And a couple months ago you were an aspiring CFI wanting to know which regional you should apply for. Then apparently you went to SWA and quit. Your troll game is super weak...a simple post history search proves it. At least pick a story, a plausible timeline, and stick to it.

The airline career wasn’t for me. I’m happier now but that doesn’t change the fact that Piedmont offers its Cadets a chance of a lifetime with good schedules, respectable pay, and career advancement via a flow to the greatest airline in the world, AA.
If a CFI asks me what to do, I tell them all the same thing: apply at PDT and hope they call you. |

He was not a SWA pilot.

Add United to the list, they just announced 300. The united forum seems to debunk the idea that it is a April fools joke. lol
