  • CommutAir: Hiring FOs off the street, new hire classes scheduled every two weeks
  • Endeavor: Has started hiring FOs off the street with new hire classes starting every Monday
  • Envoy: No updated information on pilot hiring or training at the time of this bulletin
  • GoJet: Actively hiring FOs off the street and have scheduled new hire classes
  • Horizon: Had a hiring window in early March that has since closed. Planning for new hire classes in March and April
  • Mesa: Has not yet started hiring pilots off the street, but they have been recalling pilots with job offers/class dates from 2020. Their first new hire class will be in early April
  • Piedmont: Getting close to starting to hire off the street and are currently accepting applications. Planning for new hire classes sometime in April
  • PSA: Recently started aggressively hiring pilots off the street with hopes of filling new hire classes to be scheduled every two weeks, starting in April
  • Republic: Has not yet started hiring pilots and no new info on new hire classes (furloughed trainees tentatively coming back in May 2021)
  • Skywest: While they have not yet started hiring new pilots, they started recalling all of their pilots who were sent home from 2020 classes this month. No information on new hire classes as of yet

Piedmont doesn't have any plans to hire as far as I know. We took in 36 guys from our existing pool, but as recently as a few days ago they've said that we're not hiring for the foreseeable future. It wouldn't shock me in the least if that changes, but officially we are not hiring in April.

JabroniJohn 03-29-2021 01:12 PM

What are some stats of recent street hires?

I'm guess mostly guys who already have an ATP and some 121 experience.

Anyone get hired at the mins?

stang 03-29-2021 01:32 PM

Applying is like the lottery, can't win without playing but as someone with 121 time, ATP etc - the phone is not ringing off the hook. So it's good news there is some things opening up but I still think it will be sometime until getting an interview will come quickly.

CFIorDie 03-29-2021 03:39 PM

Can someone do the math on what the odds of having job offers only with the airlines that aren’t hiring are? I think my students are starting to realize I’m losing my mind.

Every PDT guy I run into has nothing but good things to say about pay, QOL, and morale. I had no idea how good things were going with them guys and how sharp the management team is.

Sounds like a great time to be a PDT pilot. They're putting themselves in a position to be the premier AA WO'd.

simply impossible with an all-WSCOD fleet.

no F, no wifi, no overhead bins. All of that has zero to do with the employees but 100% with the pax

Say what you want, but I have talked to the crews and was impressed with their service and dedication to the art of commercial flying. I wouldn't be surprised if Daddy AA has big plans for them. To all the PDT guys reading this, keep up the good work.

I have NEVER talked to a PDT pilot that said anything was good about PDT. Before COVID they’re pay was the lowest and they were getting min days off even as senior line-holders with no way of moving any dates. They knew it sucked but were hanging on bc the flow was the shortest of the WO. I haven’t spoken to any since COVID hit but they’ve probably just been grateful that they got some schedule relief with flying down...

My phone has not stopped ringing from all the young CFI's I know looking for info about Piedmont. These kids are excited to get into the airline world via PDT. Maybe things are picking up after all.

this is embarrassing really, but hell if it isn’t like watching a train wreck...I know I should turn away but it’s just so damn awe inspiring.

Another hater. You’ve been discredited every time you bring that up, In case anyone has any doubts, the PDT guys I talk to can’t get enough of flying there. They look forward to going in and make AA proud.

Where else would places be hiring FO’s if not, “off the street?”

The AA wholly owned carriers keep a pool of highly qualified, up-and-coming talent in cadet programs. This way they are emerged in AA's policies and are monitored for performance.

Ive been saying this for days now, lol. If it isnt him, or an old account of his, I would be shocked. Its the same schtick just for a different focus, PDT.

Get your story straight, dude. Over on the SWA thread you pose as a ex-SWA pilot who left the industry.

I’m not in the industry anymore. I still have friends flying for various companies and have done some mentoring for the young ones

Uh huh. And a couple months ago you were an aspiring CFI wanting to know which regional you should apply for. Then apparently you went to SWA and quit. Your troll game is super weak...a simple post history search proves it. At least pick a story, a plausible timeline, and stick to it.

I haven’t been a CFI in a long time. You may be confusing me with someone else

ha ha. I think this guy got banned for a minute. One minute he was retired United. The next a CFI trying to break into the game. LOL!

Are you so clueless that you don't realize all of us can see your hilariously contradictory posts about who you are and what your experience level is? Only thing you haven't claimed so far is Shuttle PIC time. Or at least up your troll game with a new handle.

123494 03-31-2021 12:58 PM

The airline career wasn’t for me. I’m happier now but that doesn’t change the fact that Piedmont offers its Cadets a chance of a lifetime with good schedules, respectable pay, and career advancement via a flow to the greatest airline in the world, AA.

If a CFI asks me what to do, I tell them all the same thing: apply at PDT and hope they call you.

He was not a SWA pilot.

Add United to the list, they just announced 300. The united forum seems to debunk the idea that it is a April fools joke. lol
