Is PSA officially part of this too?

ZeroTT 08-25-2021 01:06 PM

No deal with PSA MEC as yet

chrisreedrules 08-25-2021 01:09 PM

Essentially the same deal has been handed to all 3 WOs. Some finer points of this “deal” may be up for discussion so actual agreements may be hours, days, or weeks away.

They aren't allowed to do stock buybacks anymore!

Brokeasspot 08-25-2021 01:47 PM

Our taxes! Haha!

$50K biannual, or biennial? Biiiig difference.

If it's biannual, might be worth sticking around for.

Otherwise, better compare $30K+$50k+70K with how much you'll earn if you leave for DAL or FDX two years before flow... and 777 FO is going to new-hires at UAL.

Although it's a certainly a nice deal if you have a GED or several DUIs.

You will be hard pressed to stop people from going to another legacy, I’d expect it’s mostly to dissuade people from bailing to LCCs. If you’re a year or two out from flow, it helps bridge the gap of turning down an LCC.

I hear the big sucking sound. Majors are going to “Hoover” up any they can get their hands on.

Whats the play if you have 20-25 years left in the game, and your options are AA year 1 FO in 5 years, or year 5 CA at Amazon/LCC in 5 years?

Been at your current regional for 3 years, have little QOL seniority.

reason this is happening? MASSIVE attrition and it’s gonna pick up speed. Anyone at a regional now is in for a good ride and a lot of opportunities. Not the time to tie one hand behind your back if you don’t have to

And a rising tide lifts all boats…

TheRubberDucky 08-25-2021 05:23 PM

Golden handcuffs for some, will be interesting to see terms. Do upgrades have to make the decision right away or do they have time?

PeakEGT 08-25-2021 05:56 PM

I’m at the car dealer and need a reference so did PSA get it or no?

Funny how quick things change and how fast we forget. I bet this exact comment could probably be found in a 2019 forum about the good times. Only to be followed by horrific times. And then back to good times now.

This last year was about the shortest cycle ever.

Interestingly though, Covid hasn’t exactly ended and a recession could very well be waiting in the wings.

ZeroTT 08-25-2021 07:45 PM

The underlying retirement dynamics haven’t changed and the airlines have seen how fast demand rebounds. Nobody wants to be caught without pilots next summer even if there’s a delta dip

As for when winter comes. Yes, it will come again but it that doesn’t make this offer a good deal

APCHCLIMB 08-26-2021 05:41 AM

According to our MEC-
  • Piedmont captains and first officers will see a pay increase, effective Nov. 1, 2021, that brings Piedmont’s pay in line with the other wholly-owned carriers

Does that mean PSA and Envoy are getting no raises? Some raises? Isn’t PDT just about the lowest paid at this point?

I believe we are the lowest paid. Rumor seems to be that we will go to PSA/ENY 76 seat rates

But PSA/ENY will get a raise too?
They’ve got to be getting one.
No way will they pay PDT 76 seat rates to fly a 50 seater and then not give PSA/ENY nothing extra to fly an actual 76 seater.

Agree, it would be odd for them to do so. Perhaps we all get 76 rates + a lil sumthin sumthin? Guess we'll just to wait and see.

Keep in mind even if you do leave an AA WO for another carrier after you upgrade you're still going to make 80k in bonuses just be being there the normal amount of time.

I could be wrong there could be more stipulations on the 25k a year hourly goal bonus for 2 years..and the 30k automatic bonus once you upgrade to CA. But by what it reads on paper..you fly 2 years an an FO upgrade to CA then put in an app at year 3 to another airline you still qualify for 80k in bonuses. Isn't that what most regional pilots do anyway? Upgrade get some tpic and leave?

Just by that logic this makes the AA wo the place to go....OO yx 9E have nothing to compete with this

They can write checks if they need to. Their major partners would likely even pay for it, rather than deal with the fallout of subcontractors who can't staff or fail financially.

you are wrong. Sorry :(

the $30k is due back in full if you leave AA/PSA within 36 months

Probably the subsequent $50k has the same strings.

all of this is theoretical til the mec approves an LOA

I figured there was more to it. Is that 36 months after being hired or after upgrading?

Looks like the parking lot at a military FW squadron (or submarine base).

$20 says the hour requirement is based on block and not credit.

I'll take Venmo for your payment.

funny that you toss in submarine squadron I saw only one guy who did spurge on a nice car (enlisted nuke guy) who bought a new 2012 GT500 at the time I was in.

Everyone either bought Mustangs, Subaru STIs, or the EVOs, or loaded fords, Dodges, Chevys lol.

The blended pay chart is really no more after they retired all of the 200’s. It’s just large RJ rates now
