Default Restricted Atp to atp

Has anybody went through the process recently? I’ve been trying to get in touch with the fsdo with no luck

Are you at an airline? Your POI can do it.

If your local FSDO isn't answering, try a neighboring one. You could also go through the DPE list to see if any of them can do it; will probably cost some $, but well worth it in my opinion.

As for the process itself, it's very simple. Unless IACRA has had the functionality added, you'll have to fill out a paper 8710-1, but just bring it along with your logbooks and a photo ID and a temp cert with the restriction removed should be issued to you on the spot.

Find out what regional office oversees that FSDO and call them.

Why bother? Any situation you need it will involve a checkride that will remove it

What about getting hired by companies that require unrestricted atp?

Because some companies require it to be removed before you start upgrade training.

Not true. All he needs to do is make a appointment at the FSDO and take the the required documents that they want to see to remove the restriction to go to full ATP. That’s what I did when back in 2018. No checkride required.

Eligible for unrestricted ATP but didn't do the paperwork drill screams "lazy". If you have apps out, get it done. Some employers will require it for app screening/interview/CJO.
