Cologne in the Cockpit

I've noticed a good amount of pilots wearing strong cologne in the cockpit lately. I don't want to smell it. We're not on a date. Is this considered to be professional by some folks?

Curious.

Totally unsat and against the unwritten code of the cockpit. I wear cologne as well but certainly not up front. WTF is wrong with people? Use some common sense for crying out loud.

I’ve got to ask……is it really young pilots?

Whack we young pilots like to throw on about 2/3 of a can of AXE right before we plop down in the seat for ya.

Leave the sex panther at home fellas. Smells like pure gasoline.

The reason I ask is that I’m wondering if it’s new pilots that have just entered the industry and don’t know that it’s kind of a faux pas to show up for work with a bunch of cologne on.

It’s not a slight against younger pilots at all. We were all newbies at one time and had to figure out what’s socially acceptable at work.

I was in a Walgreens during an overnight getting some Preparation H, and saw a BRUT gift set. I figured I scored and would be enhancing the cockpit aroma dynamics, now you guys are saying I'm unprofessional.

Covers up the rank smell of the other guys farts or last night's fish leftovers he brought for his meal

FWIW, I've noticed some deodorant/antiperspirants products have a strong cologne like smell. It's possible someone just bought a brand they weren't familiar with at the store across from the hotel because they ran out.

I can't imagine anyone really thinking cologne in the small cockpit is a good idea.
