-delay partially due to mainline scope discussions on MTOW for 76 seaters as well as current global aviation market conditions

Geared engines are heavy, no way around it.

There will be no concessions made to scope at ANY major carriers anytime soon . They better figure out something else .

They did. The program is postponed. They gambled on the US market relaxing scope and lost.

Foreign companies have a hard time grasping how ironclad American labor contracts can be. Horrible miscalculation on their part. Should we feel sorry for them when their whole strategy was to rely on Corporate America undercutting current CBAs and sticking it to the working man once again? I for one don't, they dug their own grave.

Yup. I was a bit confused all along about how they were ignoring scope with that design... the US is by far the largest RJ market in the world, and it's hard to imagine an ROI on the R&D without access to that market (RU and PRC obviously subsidize their designs, which tend to not be economic to operate in the west and probably hard to certify at best).
