What’s funny to me is how defensive you are of that place. I hear insults about my employer and the other legacies and I couldn’t care less. However, my company provides and a contract and QOL with staying for.

The $250,000 for a DEC is a blatant bait and switch scam. For one they haven’t even paid anyone that for a truthful annual compensation to be revealed. Anyone with a brain can see Connect is a scam. I’m sorry but $250K for a small Dash 8 operator isn’t profitable and won’t be reality. There’s lies in there somewhere.

And while “pilots” are doing nothing but complaining I’m extremely happy at the moment. Keep enjoying your current employer. Keep spreading those lies. Cmon you can do better than that.

You don't have an image yet, you're a startup. Your image will develop over time and reflects the attitudes of management and the pilot group. This company started by trying to exploit cheap Canadian labor and was blocked by unions and regulators. That's a fact. It is well documented and publicly available information. That's a tough way to start in this market. And on top of that, if you represent the type of people working at Connect with your hostile attitude, the company is in serious trouble. Yikes.

It is the definition of cut rate. Your first year captain pay is less than standard starting FO regional pay.

Again, the compensation numbers that are being bragged about by this company are artificially inflated by conditional bonuses, etc. Almost nobody will be eligible for them all.

Here are the actual pay rates, taken from Connect’s page. As you can see, they are all below market hourly numbers. $250,000 is misleading and will not be true for 99% of applicants.

Many pilots, including myself, peruse these forums to gauge an airline’s culture, and to differentiate between propaganda recruiting claims and reality.

You have given potential applicants a lot to consider - false claims about compensation, toxic pilot culture, and treating employees like they’re an expendable commodity.

You may have actually saved some people from making a horrible mistake by working for Connect. Thank you

Oh yea buddy what you said makes perfect sense. You, and these pilots you speak of are akin to a dog chasing it’s tail. Your never going to get a feel for anything here and that’s great because with keeping people like you out of the company we won’t have drama like there is on this forum.

Yeah I've started to seriously consider that they don't actually work there, and are putting up such ridiculous posts to underhandedly keep people from going. No other rational reason to post like that.

Nonetheless, this company is sketchy. Clearly their recruiting tactics rely upon lies about compensation expectations. Treating employees like an expendable commodity is a nonstarter for me - sure they're treating pilots well now because of the labor market, but when push comes to shove I have no doubt they will go back to their cheap labor roots and attitudes. After all, that's what they originally planned on doing.

Than being said, I shot my junk in just to see what happens. I flew the ATR, I'd like to see how the Dash flies so that I can rest assured the ATR is the better product.

The previous flying was all expunged. No flying from July 23rd to August 8 then see above. All late AND two days in between, no flying! Now I’m no expert but it does not seem things are going well.

They can use the gimmick “Smart Captain”, all they want but I would’nt risk it and you’ll never see any of those bonuses. I wonder how many are REALLY buying this and going to work there?
