What would you do

Determine your priorities among these factors:
1) Where you'd be living/based and commuting issues
2) Pay
3) Equipment
4) Industry reputation
5) Expected career progression/upgrade/where people go when they leave
6) How well others like working for each company
7) How the company will fare in this dog eat dog world
See which one does the best among your top priorities. Good luck.

Depends on where you live. If you are able to minimise or avoid altogether a commuter that is very important.
Based on the company alone, there is little doubt that right now I would choose Skywest.
- Many bases
- Lots of good routes
- More than one customer airline
There are good reasons to go to AWAC.
- Good contract
- Excellent pilot group
- Good Training dept.
- Good presence in the Northeast US.
In the end, go to the one which will allow you to live your life as you see fit.

keep in mind if you go to skw you could commuting to MKE for a month or two. if youre from WI skw is a great choice because your seniority will shoot thru the roof there, people dont like being based there for a number of reasons (theyre not from there, midwest demands too much, you have to wear your hat and blazer, you have to stand at the door and waive goodbye to the passengers, all this and turn an airplane in 27 minutes).
i think this decision is going to come down to where you live and where youre willing to commute. upgrade times at skw could stay low, but think about it, youll be at skywest behind 1000 people that were just hired in the last year and a half so its kind of a crapshoot as to when upgrades will slow down.

I work for AWAC. In my opinion, it is a good place to be. We have an excellent contract, pay, and crews. The downsides are our bases. I commute from the midwest, and personally I do not mind it. This month only has 1 trip I could not get home on the last day, and next month I can get home on all of them, and I am not even an official line holder yet. The super long reserve is over here, as a guy that is not even online yet has been awarded a line in PHL for Sept. Things will be moving fast here in the up coming months.
