Default AWAC and LGA

There was recently a posting on our company forum that AWAC is considering a domicile in LGA.

Personally, I hate the idea. But I suppose it would have some advantages too.

Do the AWACers here know of anyone from New York who might actually like the LGA base (if it were to actually happen)?

Discuss.

LGA would not be to bad for me personally commuting wise. Only 2 less flights per day but NO Rj's, infact the smallest is a 319, plus they run later at night. More crashpads available in better areas. JMHO

Supposedly LGA is putting a "No 121 A/C under 50 seats" rule in October. It'll def open up sum more flying for AWAC. Im probably one of the few AWAC pilots born and raised on Long Island...so if this pulls through. I'll be the first one on the list. You cant put a price on free housing!!

Source?

This is going to be devastating to Colgan and Eagle.

Kind of why I don't believe it.

I know one CA that lives in Manhattan that would probably love it. It would likely be better for commuting than any of our other bases save the ORD-DCA cakewalk...as long as you left before noonish. Oh yeah...it would likely go SUPER junior.

Still can't figure out why we have so many flights in/out LGA, seeing as its a CHQ domicile that has been doing LGA flying for YEARS now...and the Clarion LGA sucks major ass.

The Port Authority wants nothing smaller than 50 seats in and out of LGA, but that ain't gonna happen because of the $$$ involved. What they're working on is a higher average seats per departure for all the carriers there.

It is an easy fix, call corporate travel and tell them to put you in the holiday inn. Used to be the Ramada, across from Shea. They will do it, as they have gotten so many complaints.

AWAC would be fantastic for me with a LGA domicile...born and raised about 3 miles down the road!! I could almost walk down the Grand Central Parkway to the Terminal.

::sigh:: LoL. Guess I'll just have to deal with Commuting 'cause I 'aint Jumping Ship again!! haha...

I highly doubt AWAC is going to open an LGA base. I think I remember an email or possibly a company discussion board post a few months back promising we weren't going to... anyone else remember this?

I have personally never stayed there, but I heard it is terrible. Didn't it used to be a parking garage or something weird like that?
