Quite possibly the most rediculous statement ive read today

I dont think its wise to buy into people's predictions for the future of hiring at any airline past tomorrow. Since you wont graduate till January anyways, it wont really matter if they stop hiring or not because you wouldnt be eligible for employment. So, will the airlines still be hiring when you graduate? Ill tell you in January.

I know man, I wasnt trying to bash on you for asking the question. Its the same question I had back a few months ago before I graduated. The most important thing ive taken from being around these forums for a bit anyways, is that no one really knows whats going to happen past tomorrow. Sure hiring looks good now, but as SAABorooski (?)(sorry about the spelling if its wrong) pointed out, things looked good pre-9/11 too. Anythings possible, especially in this line of work. Your best bet is to apply to the places that make the most sense for you during your last semester of school, so when you get out, you can atleast look forward to a contingent job offer, if not a firm class date. Thats the route my buddies and I took, and we've all got firm (haha, of course thats a relative term) class dates not even 6 months out of school. Of course thats after flight instructing for over a year, but we're definetly fortunate. Take advantage of the time you can now to instruct while you're still in school so when you graduate, you'll have more than the bare minimum experience requirements so you wont just be another paper weight in the cockpit.

Those car-bombs out in the U.K. are making me nervous for our Job-security here State-side...fantastic.
