ellen what makes you think ACARS is that great? sure you get atis and performance on it, but it takes away flexibility from the crew calling in their times. not to mention management in the future will say, now that you can do everything with ACARS, lets cut the turn times from 27 minutes to 15 minutes. No thanks.

Now CPDLC is cool because of the hassle with HF... but anyway Ellen serious who do you fly for

Sorry if it sounds negative (maybe I am lately . . . that time of the month. I admit) however, there is a lot of intelligent conversation on this forum, but this topic just doesn't seem important.

P.S. This thread already received way more words from me than the "Who Cares" it desreves.

Actually the 700 is a Bad ***. The number of people behind you is not the qualifier, at least not to me. It cruises at .83 and climbs like an *** raped squeal monkey. If I told you every aircraft helicopter/fixed wing i'm checked out in, you would call me a liar, but I'm here to tell you as much as airline flying is boring......the 700 is fun to fly.

Stick

Why would you NEED flexibility UNLESS you were going to LIE about your OO/OI times.
