Frontier announces 4 destinations for new turboprop service

DENVER (AP) - Frontier Airlines is announcing the first four cities it plans to serve with its new turboprop operation.

The Denver-based carrier will begin flying the new turboprop planes in October from Denver on an existing route to Billings, Montana, and will introduce service to Wichita, Kansas; Sioux City, Iowa, and Rapid City, South Dakota.

The four are among 62 cities that submitted proposals to Frontier for the regional service. The new operation called Lynx Aviation is designed to reach into smaller and mid-sized cities.

Other destinations, including mountain resort communities, will be announced later this summer.

I wonder how many of these new destinations were part of the original destinations served when Frontier started back up. Both old and new frontier flew into GTF, but new Frontier pulled their aircraft out once they started doing well in order to place them in bigger markets. More competition is always nice, especially in the smaller western communities.

I'm glad they are doing well and expanding. Tough market now that SWA is setting their sights on expanding at DIA.

Any word on a flow through from Lynx to Frontier?

From what I've heard from F9 guys on the bus to the crew room, there will not be a flow through.

I have heard the same that going to Lynx may actually keep you from F9 but nobody really knows what the future may hold. I still don't understand why F9 made a holding company and then is buying a separate certificate to start regional service.
