Default American Eagle

What is the word around the campfire about this company. I know the upgrade times seem to take forever but I heard they are letting new hires choose thier own bases. that seems like a plus. anyone have any comments on them good or bad....hopefully not all bad

Check out this thread I wrote in April.

Basically, Eagle upgrade will be down to 4 years by the end of this year (2007). It looks like by the end of 2008, it should be down to 3 years (maybe less). So my prediction is if you were hired in 2006, you will have a 3 year (perhaps less) upgrade.

Letting newhires chose their own base has been helping fill classes lately. The company is good, there are better and worse. Upgrades are long, but if you find a base where you can live then life is really great. Equip, maintenance, crews are all great. Schedules are about avg, and a reasonable amount of movement in the ranks now, hopefully it will continue. Good luck!

Question

If new-hires get to chose their bases, what happens to the senior pilots who would like to move into a domicile of their choosing???

How do they staff San Juan? Junior assign FO's who have completed probation?

Believe it or not, there are a lot of people who want to be based in SJU or MIA so they chose the ATR in those bases. AE has recruited locals from SJU who want to be based in the area. If you are a pilot who wants to transfer into a different base in the same equip then you put in your transfer and get it awarded to you. Usually takes 2-3 months to get your base changed.
