Any thoughts on what bases are going junior right now? I am interviewing at Republic on next week and live in DEN, hoping to get DEN as soon as possible. I don't mind waiting for a later class date although my seniority will suffer- but I can hold off as I am currently with another 121 carrier. Is it possible to get Republic right now? How about DEN?

Ok special. Here are some numbers you can crunch on.

Currently there are roughly 71 J4J guys here that will be leaving soon. The Upgrade on the 170s is standing around 2yrs 5months with the most recent hired on 1/27/05. There were a batch of them upgraded from the 1/5/05 class. 145 upgrade is looking at around 2yrs 2months with a batch of 12 that I counted (could have missed a few) from the 3/24/05 Class and a batch of CRJ guys from the 4-14-05 class. This information is a month old.

When I was hired I was #1854. There are currently only 1837 pilots here for next month. Meaning we've had a surge in guys leaving. So yes there is in fact a possibility for a quicker upgrade in the future. I've gone from 1857 to 1738 for next month. That's 119 pilots since my hire date. As far as those that have left? June lost 46 pilots. July is currently standing at around 21 that I currently know of. These guys are ranging from hire dates of '00 to '07 spread pretty evenly.

If you'd bother to point and click just a little you'd be able to read on your own too. You'd also be able to come up with actual productive comments instead of your usual incoherent babbling.

So to the poster that wanted to know there are the facts. I am new here being a 4/5/07 hire. According to POPA and his infinite wisdom that does in fact inhibit my ability to do basic addition and subtraction. However he was in the same class so go figure???

Kilo on another note I wasn't trying to bash lol. Sometimes I forget to put things in like etc.(<--LOOK ELLEN!!!). No harm no foul m8. Your info was a little off though. These were the most current numbers I could find.

Happy Flying,

Ace currently looks like Buffalo and CMH get the bulk of new guys. I was told from higher up the ladder that they want more in CMH on reserve because they can DH you to any of the other bases very quickly. They are flexible though. I called and asked if I could spend more time in IAH where we currently fly 145s though and they are approving it even though it isn't a base. Round the clock per diem!

Apparently so. A CFI friend of mine is in training now. He was hired with 65 multi and he had his MEI. They told him in the interview that definitely helped him. His words not mine.

Looking at DOH's is great and all....but do you know how many people are between you and the DOH of 4/05? No way this place is upgrading over 900 people in two years. Attrition is high, but it ain't that high and we're developing our own little group of lifers. The most upgrades I've seen at one time was for this most recent PHL bid...but if they did that every 2 months until they hit you...it would STILL be over 2 years. Not to mention there's just not that many 170 Sims....

Anyone hired after Aug 2006 is looking around AT LEAST a 2.5 year upgrade and getting longer (bottom of the list I would estimate 3 years or longer). I'd bet my training contract on it

I'm in class right now and have come to the same conclusion. The only way any of us newbs will see less than 3 years is if there is if the growth curve continues or if there is massive attrition due to major hiring.

Yes there are 750 people in front of me. Subtract the 70 J4J guys so now I'm at 680. Attrition is averaging around 30 a month. Might stay that way or it might not. You stated the biggest upgrade you've seen. You're assuming the company doesn't grow any in the future with that. It could keep going like this or it could shrink. We could become our own airline and need to staff even more planes. Too many variables. So statements like "it looks like 4-5yrs" are invalid. There is nothing yet to confirm something. The only thing that's factual are the current numbers and they say upgrades will be hitting around 2-2.5yrs. I wasn't speaking on what it would be like 4-5years from now. That's impossible.
