AWAC dumps sim interview?

I interviewed in ATW on Tuesday the 10th and I can confirm that there is no longer a sim ride. We were told that they made the decision on Monday to drop the sim ride....after I had spent the money on the sim prep Monday afternoon, oh well, a little sim practice never hurt anyone.

If they drop sim they'll have to add technical questions to the interview to make it any bit of a challenge. I interviewed there in May and was hired. The sim was a breeze. Then again I am pretty traditional in a way that I think the best way to evaluate a pilots skills is to throw a six pack in front of him or her. If they can't handle a basic six pack the SHOULDN'T be handling an RJ. Now wish me luck. Sim 6 today 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.

As far as CRJ Certification (Assuming you went to ALLATPS) . . .you don't need it. Not sure what a CRJ Certification is anyway and why people get it.
Sitting in an CRJ FTD for 2-3 hours before training AFTER you have been hired might be valuable if you have no experience with the many differences between a CRJ and Seminole. (Glass, skypointer, Speed/Alt Tapes, Trend vectors, speed differences, FMS, radios, N1/N2 speed switches, Hot starts, Bleed transfers, etc . . .)
If you feel comfortable on the radios in busy Terminal Areas/Ground Frequencies, ORD, DEN, LAX, SFO, ATL, DFW, JFK, PHL, BOS, etc . . . and can execute what controllers are wanting from you, you will be more of a help to a Captain than your CRJ Certification.
