Default The greener side.

After a weekend vacation to NYC recently, I noticed that the hotel turned off the A/C during daytime to save power. This got me thinking of all the early shows when I have left the room with the A/C running with no further thoughts...

I try to be enviromental friendly with my recycling, CFL lightbulbs etc. forgetting about what could be done when im on the road.

So I thought I would engourage everyone to join me (if you arent doing it already) to turn of A/C units when you leave the hotelrooms after your stay! Spread the word to the rest of your crews, and lets hope mother earth will smile back at us

That shouldt really be a problem. IF the A/C remains off until next guy, it doesnt take long to cool down a hotelroom. I think the hotel cleaning staff will notice it anyway and turn it back on. But at least you have it of for about 4 hours if its an early show...

It sucks to check in to a hot hotel room at midnight. Leave um on! Or, at least leave it set to 70.

Some hotels have motion sensors that turn off the AC when nobody is in the room. That sucks if you, like me, like to turn on the AC, go to dinner and come back to a cool room. It's nice to be able to turn off the noisier units so I can sleep. The only way to do that is to super cool the room.

To keep an emty room at 70F is a total waste of energy, but I understand the point about sleeping in a hot room.
