Exclamation Just confirming what I've been told!?!?!

I have 2 relatives at Xjet (one a captain and other f/o) and 2 friends at AE (both f/o) and all told me to put my resume in, although I only have about 450TT and 15 Multi.

Its good to hear that they are reassure for me to do this, but at the same time it basically goes against the minimums for multi and TT.

1 - do they even look at resumes without the minimum times

and

2 - Is there any truth in this or are they just telling me the glass is half full.

**also, how important/influencial is having a relative submit a LOR and a phone call to HR or whoever she sends it too.

Thanks,

the chief forever

I can only personally speak to XJT, but I know of no one getting hired here (XJT) with less than 100ME. That being said, it never hurts to toss out a resume to show interest. Not sure if AE is hard on the mins, but I guarentee you wont get called if you dont apply..... Give it a shot, nothing to loose.

There ARE places hiring at your times...... Hiring is quite desperate many places.... TSA, PSA, Piedmont, Mesa just to name a few.,... Places that give you 121 training and experience and move on to a better place....

Relatives/friends LOR from within are always a help and they can usually get your resume in the hands of the right people..... Give it a shot....

Good luck.

For what its worth, my buddy who is an XJet captain says 500/50 in the current climate plus a CRJ-transition course will seal the deal. I am not a big fan of CRJ transition courses because I feel it is the airline's responsibility to give you that, but he might know what he is talking about given where he happens to be.

A bit of a misconception. It's not the airline's responsibility to give you anything other than their training curriculum on the aircraft you will be flying, you have to be up to par to pass it. CRJ "transition courses are exactly just that...a course design to help you transition from a G.A. environment to the 121, a way to ease the pain if you would...

I never took one, never thought I needed it, but I was asked along with a few friends to evaluate the curriculum for a particular program, and as stated above, the training is a very water down version of what you will get in the 121 training environment....definitely not the airline's responsibility to provide it.

Has a current Xjet employee on leave, do not put your app in without 500/100. I f you do it now, you will get put in the recycle bin for 3 months. Get your time, or call H.R. just to verify. My mins are 500/100, I don't think that has changed, at least that's what Angela told me.

- They may well look at resumes that don't quite meet minimums, especially in today's high-demand environment.

- At some companies the length of time that your resume has been on file may be used to prioritize who gets the call. It shows long-term interest.

- Nobody is going to hold it against you, so you may as well send one in.

A relative is the gold standard for pilot references...it will be at least very helpful and at some airlines it may be the only way to get an interview.

Granted the timing was different, but I submitted my application to XJT in the fall of 2005 when I had 850TT/100ME, but 600 of my TT was military helo. My application was denied before I could even click over to Outlook to check my email. The system automatically purged my app due to not meeting the required qualifications...

Then you can't reapply for 3 months...so consider carefully.
