Default Pinnacle's Groundschool

For all the Pinnacle guys out there: How many tests during groundschool do you need to take before the SIM and with what percentage? Is there a retake if you flunk on either of the tests? Do they prepare you for you oral toward the end of groundschool or your're on your own? Let me know

By the way, where are the new trainees staying at (which hotel)?

so did you get the job, been a while since i went through initial so i cant be much help as far as the test go. all the stuff you learn in ground school, and then some, is fair game during the oral. you take all the ground test, do the oral, do the cpt's and then go to sims. there have been quite a few changes there so maybe someone can update this.

Yes, I got the job and I am supposed to be in training This Monday the 23rd.

I was just asking a total number of ground school tests that you'll take. and there is retake if one flunks.

FOM, systems, memory items. Don't worry about the ground school, the instructors will go over the questions on the test the day before the test. I know that getting into study groups really helped me out before the oral.

The oral exam is hard, but sometimes you just gotta suck it up (pun intended).

What he said.

Make sure that you are able to apply the systems/limitations/profiles, important FOM/CFM stuff and think about real world scenarios by the time you get to your check ride/IOE. You can teach a monkey to pass a test. Being able to apply the knowlege on line in the real world is a different matter.

Presuming that you study, ground school will prepare you to pass the tests just fine. As far as preparing for the SIM/IOE, it's up to you...

Good luck!

The groundschool isn't that hard, and they review before all the written test, so don't worry about it. If you have a chance, be sure to study the flows and profiles before you actually get to the CPT's. If your at the Homestead, make sure your sleeping when FedEx start their push, or it will be a long night. Ha Ha
