Default Parking

How does parking work at the airport for pilots. Do you have to pay for parking everytime you go on a trip and leave your car the airport? (I'm assuming you don't) Is it different for different airlines, or is it pretty much standard across the board? What if I'm based at one airport and decide to pick up a flight out of another airport?
