Default PSA Question

I am considering sending my stuff into PSA because I live about an hour away from TYS and really like it here. Just curious what my chances would be of getting TYS out of training and what the QOL is at that base such as min. days off and also what the lines are like at TYS. I flew for Eagle for about a year and got out because commuting was just getting plain annoying trying to get to ORD. I loved it there but commuting really just ruined it for me. Thank You in Advance

What about the destinations that they fly to out of TYS. Any advice would help out greatly. Thank You

Just don't do it.

Everyone there is overworked and waaaay under paid. If you want to fly out of TYS there are several good corporate flight departments there and a couple of charter operators.

Here is where you can do a search for local operators. http://av-info.faa.gov/OpCert.asp?SrchBy=Location

You should have no problem getting TYS right out of training.

What about Charlotte? Is that a hard one to get?

Upgrade times looking like?

I don't mind the hard work. Means more flying right?

They seem like really cool down to earth people.

You can get any base pretty quick. I have enjoyed my tenure here thus far. I haven't been here long, but I am really enjoying it. About the post of being underpaid, we get paid only $1.50 less an hour than Eagle, which is one of the best. The pay charts on APC are innaccurate. First year pay is $22.44 hour and second year is around $30.

Thanx for the response texaspilot. I just sent my resume to PSA about two days ago over the opsrecruiter2 web address on APC and was just curious how long it would take to hear something. I was also curious what PSA's route structure looks like and have failed to find it on their website. Also, what is PSA's min days off a month???? Thanx

It may take up to a week or two before you hear anything so don't get discouraged. Maybe sooner, just depends on how backed up they are. I think I waited a week and a half. Min days of on reserve is 10. Routes are around the south east mostly. Training is a month of ground school that ends with your oral in Dayton. Then probably a week off followed by 2 weeks of sims in Charlotte. Wait for IOE is around 3-4 weeks right now. That should go down in the future once they get mor IOE captains online. Hope this helps. Good luck!
