Default Any Thoughts?

I am currently a CFI in Atlanta and am intrested in flying for a regional that is based here. I know of 3 regionals that have bases in Atlanta... ASA, Skywest, and Shuttle America. I would like opinions on all 3. Pay, work rules, QOL? Any info would be great.

I'd apply to ASA, since you won't have to move......

ASA is the only one with a GUARANTEED ATL base.

I don't know much about the internal operations of any ATL carriers. I do have a question though. Is there some reason you are opposed to commuting? I know it is nicer to live where you work, but I have been a commuter for 7 years. Yeah, there are some hastles involved, but don't discount it entirely.

I'm a CFI in Atlanta too and I'm going for ASA....driving 15 min to Vinings after a 4 day vs. hoping on another airplane to get back to Atlanta sounds good to me....

Like it was said before, ASA needs pilots!...Get through that first year pay and it's ok according to the few FO's I know there.

I just got hired w ASA and start Aug 27th, they def need pilots and it looks like a great place to work, if you already live in ATL you should apply and try to get on w them. I live in BOS and plan on spending half the time in ATL and half back here in Boston.

take asa you never know what airplane youll get at sky west and its a crap shoot that you would even get hired by republic for a shuttle class and then its a crap shoot as to the base. Any time you can drive to work will make your life better.

I just interviewed with ASA recently as well because I am from that area and want to move back. It was OK, but I wasn't blown away to say the least. I've been met with much more enthusiasm and encouragement at other regional interviews. At first, I was excited about working for them. But, after visiting their HQ and talking with some of the employees, I wasn't nearly as enthusiastic. I wish I could give specifics, but they're hard to pinpoint. Everybody just seemed to be there doing a job, counting down the minutes before they can go home. I'd much rather work for another carrier that has higher morale and a better environment, even if it meant moving somewhere else.

Why does it matter what airplane you get?
