These are all factors that play into how practical a commute is:
City Pairs.
What airline you work for.
How senior you are.
How many other pilots do that commute (especially from your airline)
How many daily non-stops on your airline or it's affiliate.
How many daily non-stops on other airlines
Is there a hub involved?
Is one of the cities a seasonal destination or a popular tourist spot (if so, you will have to compete with non-pilot airline employees who are non-revving on vacation).
Some of this stuff you can find online, the rest you will need to ask pilots who are familiar with the commute.

www.nonrev.net
That is the best one I have come across yet. It will bring up connections with one carrier on one leg and a different carrier on another.
i.e. United to ORD and AA out of ORD to your destination.
Where as passrider.com will not as far as I can tell.
www.nonrev.net also has Airtran's flight schedule included as well. I still haven't found one with Southwest schedule included.

Southwest actually owns the server that manages their flights, soooo they don't release that info. Most airlines don't own them and that's how sites like expedia, priceline, orbitz, etc. and others can book flights on them, and how you can look up there flights on these websites. I can't remember how I found this out but it was from a reliable source.
