Default Mesaba commuter

I’m currently a Mesaba new-hire and looking to get based in MSP as soon as I am able to. I live in Milwaukee now and was planning to commute to DTW or MEM till I could hold MSP. Which do you see as being the easier commute? DTW seems easier to me, but my buddy tells me that the loads are pretty full there and MEM is easier. On the other hand, DTW has twice the number of direct flights. What do you think?

I'd pick DTW because that's where I'm at, and I'm cool.

I was in the same boat, coming out of Madison. I was assigned MEM and got MSP as of Oct. 1st. In the meantime I am based out of MEM for Aug., DTW for Sep. and then move to MSP. So, if I were you I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't know how they are assigning bases now though, I thought they were sending many new hires directly to DTW but I could be wrong.

But, if you get a choice right away, go DTW.

WIFlyer,
Out of Madison, eh? Is this Steve from W.A.?

I hope to joining you soon. Got 551TT and 62ME.

I've got all my stuff nearly ready to apply. Also going to apply at AE and see what happens.

Hey! Alright.
Couple more weeks of getting prepared and who knows, I might be joining you and Zack soon. Dropping skydivers is getting old. Heard Philo was no longer at W.A. (rumor).

The guy I drop divers at Ft. Atkinson is going to walk both our Apps into AE at about the same time that I apply at Mesaba. I'm getting pretty excited and nervous at the same time.

PM me w/ your #...might have some questions for you. Take care.
