RAH upgrades possibly quicker

According to our corporate HQ, I know I know I might as well say I was told by an elf, the j4j guys should be exiting quite quickly by march. With the need for captains the worse it's ever been here and the j4j guys leaving they are expecting upgrades to drop to 1.5yrs. You'd think they'd purchase their own sims.

No, they seem to rather send trainies to Paris. Don't mind that myself but food might get kinda pricey...

With their sign on bonus, the only new hires seem to be lateral movers.
I am not a big fan of that from my advantage point but can appreciate a company who thinks about cutting costs that way...I guess?

No offense to you of course, Duck!

I agree with you. Maybe you could bring that up in your next company meeting?

Lateral movers aren't saving anyone any money. They all still go through the full training. It actually was costing them more when they were handing out $2500 a pop...I don't know if that's still going on or not.

They still are, but the trend has been to assign ERJ guys to the CRJ or 170 and vice versa for the CRJ guys. You don't get the money unless you go into the aircraft you came from. Its just a carrot on a stick.

j4j?.................

jets for jobs, furloughed airways types who were given special status when the 170s got bought from midatlantic

yup, this 145 guy got juked out of $2500 after getting sent to the 170. guy i interviewed with was sent to the 145 from the CRJ at pinnacle.

you'd think they'd want guys that know the plane already to go through their respective groundschool. would mean a higher pass rate. oh well

Wow I haven't heard of that trick. That's crazy. They do offer you the jets though when you sign up. Some guys might not want to go to Houston or Corpus so they take the 145. Some might think they still have that fast upgrade on the CRJ and take that route. That's pretty tricky.

I'd have to confirm this...but a friend got hired on the 170 with previous 145 time. He was told he'd still get his $2500. Whether that happened or not...I have no idea. At the very least I'd bring up they never specified you had to actually get hired on the equipment you were familiar with...only that they'd give you the cash if you had the experience.
