IMHO, the CRJ's avionics are a whole heck of a lot nicer than the ERJs. Someone at Honeywell sure did screw the pooch with the Primus system.

Autothrottles? HA! Those things cost money...
ERJ's can have both. I believe almost all of our 145 fleet is Honeywell while our 140 fleet is Universal.

The ERJ's have FADECs. They basically babysit the engines. The CRJ doesn't. Outside of that I find the ERJ a little cramped but fun to fly. The CRJ is much more roomy and actually a little quieter up front. APU seems to suck on the CRJ more so on hot summer days the ERJ for tha win. CRJ's land smoother in general.

Actually the avionics (screens and bus architecture) are all Honeywell, but there are options for the FMS (when you do the avionics test on all the ERJs, it says something close to "Honeywell. Helping you control your world").

The CRJ has late 80's, very early 90's technology, while the ERJ has mid 90's technology. The ERJ is very pilot friendly with all the automation (you don't normally even have to turn the anti-ice on since it is even "automatic"), but IMO it will make you a lazy pilot in the long run. Pretty much all other aircraft out there are somewhat of a step backwards in how you manage the cockpit (other than possibly an Airbus).

At this point you should be making a decision based on Quality of Life, Pay, Upgrade, and not having to commute. An airplane is an airplane. I'd fly a C172 all damm week if ya paid me right.
