Oh yea, you want to hear bad stories listent o someone in retail. Only a few weeks ago there was this woman in the store who yelled, screamed, and made terroristic threats (a criminal felony, i think) against two of our managers. Why? Because she couldn't accept the fact that her gift receipt was good for store credit only, not cash.
The difficulty of a customer service oriented job depends largely on the policies of the company. Lately my company has been having lots of problems with the return policy. In general we require a receipt for everything. The worst problems come from people wh try to make a warranty exchange without a receipt (it's only a 1 year warranty, plus other loss prevention issues) so they throw hissy fits. If you were concerned about the product breaking, you should have kept the damn receipt. |

I used to work at Nordstrom's and we didnt have a policy, you could bring back shoes you bought 3 years ago that you wore everyday and we would give you cash back, the problem was jerky kids who needed money to go buy beer on a friday night would bring old dirty sh*t that they used to wear and want to return it for cash, sooooooooooooooo annoying, especially the moms, they were the worst they had nothing better to do then drive to the mall in their Mercedes CL600's and return a 20 T-Shirt for their sons who were too lazy to come to the mall themselves, argggggggggggggggggg gotta love Jersey women who dont work and blow all of their husbands money:rolleyes: |
Yea, I'm in central jersey and we got the same people you dealt with. Those @$$holes love to pull the Nordstroms card on us. My repsonse: well go shop at Nordstroms because Brookstone aint no sugar daddy!
Interesting thing about Mercedes: Their cars are gaudy and gas guzzling and are what snobby arrogant rich jerks drive, yet the economical and super environmental Smart Cars are engineered by Mercedes. Sorta ironic I think. lol By the way, the awesome European Smart ForTwo is coming to the US in january. Can't wait!!!!! |
I haven't had any freak shows yet on my flights... a few complainers etc etc but nothing really bad like that douche who made the hidden video of his complaining and then posted it all over the internet as an advertisement for his mini cameras. Or that breast-feeding deal on one of our Freedom birds. Yikes.
I tend to be torn between trying to provide quality service (job pride), getting the mission done under trying circumstances (it can't be perfect all the time) and the plain ol' depression of payday (is this a joke??). I know the people in back comprise our paychecks, but they sure want a heck of a lot for $19/hour some times (etc etc). I don't know if there is any price that gives the customer the right to cut down an employee like in some of the stories I have read in this post. Then again I have heard horror stories of FA's treating customers poorly too (goodness knows I have been pushed around plenty of times when dead-heading and non-reving). Pretty complicated situation. I suppose the bottom line there is as long as the pax does not cause a security problem, just shoo them out the door and get on with life. |
Fellas, if you'll notice the young lady has all of the proper equipment to succeed in this "equal opportunity" environment. Not to say you may not of "paid your dues" Jenny.
How you doin?

Puh- lease, Jeny. As another poster here has notified you previously, this is a web site for REAL airline professionals. Please, show some integrity. |
I was talking to a captain at ASA that told me of a story when he was on a leg from ATL to DAB and it was really bumpy at all altitudes. The crew was consistantly trying to find some smoother air by climbing, descending etc.....
Needless to say some grumpy passenger had the nerve to come up to the cockpit after the flight to complain and accuse the crew of climbing/descending only to find BUMPIER air. Where do these guys get off. As if we ENJOY a rough ride. |
SAAB, you really should try to land smoother. Thanks.
Dude |
I had a capt tell me last week, that an Eagle flight out ORD had a guy pull down his pants and well should I say give himself some pleasure back there. Trying to keep the conversation appropriate. Not sure what have happen with it. I assume some legal action was taken because he did it in a plane full a PAX.
