Angry Obnoxious RUDE PASSENGER

Up until this point I have had good experiences with Passengers, but today some old miserable bastard almost put me over the edge. Our APU was MEL'd so it was hot, we were in EWR ready to close the door and push, this guy wouldnt take his seat because he said it was too hot on this "small piece of sh*t airplane" The F/A told him if he would take his seat we would be able to push back and start the engines and get the A/C going, after him complaining some more, he took is seat (complaining the whole time to a CAL F/A on her way home)............. well my leg, and my landing was a little firm, I dunno maybe it was the fact that I put it down on the right main first, but when he was leaving he loudly says "I think you left the strut in EWR, I laughed because I thought he was joking but then in the jet way he continues to LOUDLY and rudely say I left the strut in Newark blah blah (very loud & rude at this point), I dunno I told him I was sorry but at least I got him here safely..................not a big deal but the lack of respect for myself, my crew, and my airplane for some reason bothered me, we were in the airplane long before him, it was hot for us as well, total disregard........... I envisioned myself drop kicking him up and down the jetway.............

Anybody else have a bad PAX experience?

Paula Abdul demanded "first class" flying out of BUR. Uh, this airplane doesn't have that.

Also, she was either drunk or on drugs, so the crew considered kicking her off. She asked the crew "are we gunna crash?"

No such thing as one for me.

I just look into their eyes and see the source of my paycheck.

Think of each passenger as a portion of your paycheck and I guarantee you will never get stressed out about something like this again.

"My paycheck is hot back there. Let's get the engine started soon!"

IMHO it should be a law against boarding an airplane over a given temp. I had a similar experience in ALB but it was the station manager bitching because we said no boarding. Temp in cabin was 122F.....

You said it was an old guy complaining.... I think he has the full right to complain.. Maybe not as bad as you describe it, but he paid for a ticket and doesnt want to sweat is a$$ off....
After all.... Old people die first in extreme heat....

I absolutely agree, who's a$$ is it gonna be when someone dies from the heat? The PIC, thats who. I actually had a guy have a heart attack coming out of Hilton Head one day because it was so hot back there. He lived, but he should not have been in the situation to start with. These companies couldn't care less about their pax, so it is up to us as crew members to refuse to take an airplane that has a broken APU and its hot out.

Well yeah he was old, but it was "warm" not too terribly hot...........either way he could of walked.....................Im sure he would of broke a sweat then

PS. I was slightly annoyed that our company had this airplane is use, it is August, mid-afternoon and the Rampers in EWR could care less if the Aircart was working etc...............the point is, We did what we could do help the situation we were hot too, and I just didnt appreciate the rude comment at the end................... (The heat in the airplane was nothing compared to what I experienced in the SAAB in LGA last summer............................)

Commuting home on JetBlue, this lady behind me was mad because at the gate next to our, some people were denied boarding because they had already closed the door. (Really they had 5 mins to spare, the agent just was ready to close) Well the lady on my flight decided to take it out on the FA. She complained that the plane was too cold and her last flight was as cold. She asked the FA if they carried blankets, and he said, I'm sorry we do not carry blankets. She got a little irate, and said, "You're not sorry!" then something about this is the worst airline. With my jaw on the ground, I see the FA just had this look on his face like he wanted to punch her. But he just walked away. I woulda punched her too, but I was in uniform, and didn't think that would go over well. When the FO came on with the greeting, he asked who was on JetBlue for the first time. She yelled out "and also my last!"

I know pax have a right to complain, and they probobly should have let those others on the plane, as they waited awhile for pushback (it was JFK of course) but don't have to be rude about it.

I never say the word "sorry" in a P.A. or to a passenger. Never, ever, ever.
