Default Pinnacle Travel Benefits

Can anyone explain how travel benefits work for Pinnacle pilots?

When do the travel benefits 'kick in' ??? Immediately after OE, after 6 months, etc. ?

What's the travel benefit policy for Pinnacle flights, Mesaba flights, and Northwest flights?

What are the rates for domestic coach, domestic first, international coach, international first/business first?

Are the benefits the same for your wife, kids, and parents?

1. benefits begin the day you pass your checkride.

2. employee, spouse, and dependent children fly for free on nwa, pinnacle and mesaba flights. if you want 1st class its like 15 bucks, or something stupid like that.

3. you just pay if you want 1st class.

4. your parents pay a flat fee per leg, i think it is 25 dollars.

Wait, is that for domestic coach? Or is international coach free on Northwest as well?

Aren't there any taxes, or is it completely free?

Domestic coach is free, as is the outbound leg of international. The leg BACK to the US has a charge though. Parent prices are like 30-40-ish bucks per leg depending on the # of flight segments for domestic flights. Ex. MSP-ORD-MEM-MCO is like 3-6 bucks more then MSP-MEM-MCO or MSP-MCO, etc.

So it's free, you don't even pay tax on a domestic coach? No taxes on the outbound international coach either?

Its free for you, your kiddos, and spouse. Your parents cost though. To put it into an example I flew my mom from MEM-DTW in June so she could see a friend for a weekend. The round trip was roughly $75. I signed her up for first class but both legs were full (saw that coming ) but it was going to be about $115 is she had first class both ways. Now when i had to commute to DTW i would just non-rev (not jumpseat) and i never once had a travel bill on my paycheck.

this is true, sorry i didn't say it clearer. any flight originating in the u.s. is free for you, your spouse, and your kids. coming back you have to pay the taxes. for example, mem to ams is free, and coming back is like 75 dollars, or 100 for business class... and trust me, coming back from ams on the a330 in business class for only 25 dollars more is the way to go.

If all this above is true, then Pinnacle has some nice travel benies!

I got a friend at Eagle, and he said Eagle makes you pay for each domestic coach flight for the first FIVE years of employment. I forget the exact amount, but it all adds up.

Yes it's true, NWA use to charge us about $30 (until about early this year) on NWA and Mesaba flights but free on Pinnacle. Now it's completely free, on all NWA, Pinnacle, and Mesaba domestic flights, for employees, spouce, and child.
