I received an e-mail from eagle the other day telling of the upcoming pilot job fairs. The first one they have available is in Anchorage, AK. Do they really have to go that far to get qualified people to come work for them?

Sept. could be a big month for Eagle if things go the way rumors are saying they are. The people who got jobs here in the last couple years could end up being really happy they were in the right place at the right time.... but we'll see what sept. brings....
If you are thinking about applying to Eagle do it now... if things go well they are going to get an overwhelming number of applications from people with a lot of flight time... but then again... we'll see what sept brings...

what are they going to have another month with more than 30 captain upgrades available bringing the newest captain on an erj down from 9-10 years to 7-8 like the atr and saab? Or are they ending their you can pick your base program cause they cant get anyone to go to san juan to fly for that pathetic excuse for an airline down there?
Anyways as the first post in this topic suggested, yes they are hard up for pilots. They actually had several job fairs advertiesed through out the carribean when i left in june.

I have a CFI buddy who was hell bent on working at Eagle here in DFW. He blew the sim eval, took some kind of expensive Flight Safety course, went back and passed the sim eval and got hired. Didn't care one bit about upgrades or anything...just wanted to stay in DFW and he's single w/ no ties. I was scratching my head on that one but he got what he wanted and I guess that's all that matters.

So are they going to wave around that flow-thru carrot again?

There's no flow through carrot for American. If american takes back all of their furlowed guys at the rate of 50 a month, it will still be 4 1/2 years before they will be hiring off the street. Thats if they even keep to 50 per month.
