Prop jet how long have you been w/ ASA? just curious, I know things are bad, and you are correct, MORALE stinks right now, I knew what I was getting into coming here, but if or if ever the contract gets settled, things will turn around, however it s a roll of the dice, what isnt really in this industry these days right LOL??

Tought the same thing you did a few years back.
Things got worse since.
We will get that contract, only if we get released by NMB an we threaten to go on strike .
The chances of being released are so thin, that I would not count on that.
Give me one good reason, why the NMB would release us?
In waiting, the pilots are ****ed off and operational performances disastrous.
When you are in ATL monitor 130.15 our MTC freq, you will hear how poor our reliability is.
The company is still making money, but Big Delta is tired of US, and it wont be long before we get the boot out of Atlanta.
I think it is exactly what skywest management wants.
they will blame the pilots then and bring their non union labor and asked them to work for cheaper wages in exchange for growth.
I wouldn't be surprise if you see no growth at ASA in the next years with a bunch of aircraft or flying transfer to skywest.
Scope is the most important section in our contract if we want to survive.
But then, who cares, everybody is bailing out. Skywest pilots are so gung ho on remaining non Union and singing kumbaya its not long before they are gonna get shafted Mesa style.

look a the facts, open your eyes: 3 bases closure in the past 3 years, the all ATL ground force got laid off. Half of our mechanics on the ramp have been transfered or resigned. with the travel benefits gone south, Most F/As are going to resign because they can't afford to commute or travel.. G.O moving to the Hangar, I wonder how many are going to be laid off as a result. And An ASA management telling us that we are doing great and feeding us lies.
If they could bring cheap labor from overseas and replace us all, they would do it in a heartbeat.
They love new hires, because they work for cheap.
I will repeat for the new guys, think long and hard before joining ASA.

I just confirmed that ASA's first year pay is 19 an hour! That's the lowest I have seen yet. They said they were in negotiations for pay increase but how likely and how long is that?

I just got an exclusive piece of hesay shesay info, that might go down if the possibility comes up, sometime soon, this millenia, from an insider, who was outside listening to the negotiations as they were taken place...............NEVER!!!:rolleyes:

But seriously it seems like more drastic measures need to be taken and also some risks need to be taken. Doesnt seem like the pilots are being taken seriously.:( Now this is from an outside standpoint....Correct me if Im wrong please

Keep up the positive attitude. That's the least we can do. I know some people are going to hate us for it but we as the new guys are totally driven by passion for flying. In the end, it will all pay off for the guys that were patient and positive. I have no doubts about that. There is a little saying that crappy things happen to crappy people. If you look at history........it plays itself true in the majority of the cases. We are just going to have to keep doing what we love to do with the mindset that the evil empire will one day collapse and better days will come.

HAHAHAHA...Mesa is now a verb.

Guys, it is fine to dream and to love what you truly enjoy, flying and flowers and so on.
Come back to earth as it is rough out there.
When faced with bills to pay, fatigue, stress, low morale, uncertainty, the only thing you have left to enjoy is flying. But is it enough?

What about a BNA guy. Where should I go? Considering ASA. Hey its not MESA:D ASA is a 45 min flit from home. Eagle would be 1:20 to DFW but at least 4 yr CA ug. And thats if things get better or it will be the 7 year fo ride. Seems like ASA can only get better. Right?:p Hey I flew cargo for a while and sat in hotels for days on end in a double occupancy room staring at the CA. I won't say where. Thats abuse. I guess its all about perspective.

Its a 5 minute drive for me to get to Hartsfield, I live 3 miles south of runway 10-28. Given those circumstances, which regional would you guys choose if you had 500+ and 140? And Why? And please dont limit yourself to just PSA and ASA.
