Does anyone have a hammer I can borrow? I suddenly have the urge to beat my head into a pulp.

Comair to lay off 106 at Orlando International
Orlando Business Journal Delta Air Lines Inc. subsidiary Comair has told the state it will lay off 106 employees at Orlando International Airport in August and September as it closes most of its local operations as part of Delta's plan to combat high fuel prices. Comair, part of Delta Connection along with Chautauqua Airlines, will retain its maintenance base, but close down all customer service operations, which are being transferred to Delta, Comair said. Some of those affected by the layoffs are being offered relocation packages to other positions within Delta. As with other airlines, Delta (NYSE: DAL) is being severely impacted by the high cost of fuel and it is reducing the number of Delta Connection flights at OIA from 58 to seven. |
Sure, why not get Comair employees on about 15 year pay at Delta for 1st year pay. Great!
On another note, I guess the woman asking about Packer season on the last phone conference doesn't have to worry anymore. According to Epic, Comair is closing it down. |
I think I flew with that gal the other day!

Congrats TheChow! According to FastTracks you got promoted to First Officer (again).:p What a worthless piece of newsletter...

Okay, serious question here (yeah, I know, can you believe it?)
In the 70 open time for August, there is a trip that has a reserve Captain assigned to it. How is this possible? The monthly run-down hasn't been run yet. |

I would have rather had pizza and beer.... |

Tell me you're kidding!
The company can't schedule you for more than 13 1/2 hours of duty. You can be forced to go over that should the weather get bad or something up to 14 1/2 hours. Should you agree, then you can go to 15 1/2, but that is entirely up to the pilot for anything over 14 1/2. The company never helps me out, so needless to say I will never go that extra hour unless I desperately need the next day off and it was a scheduled off day for me. I believe the company has to give you at least 1 day off per 7 day period. Please file an ASAP report if what you say is true. Do it soon too. By filing an ASAP report, the FAA will see that. Again, please tell me your joking reservists! it does not matter you are good for 15.5 hours. 16 if irregular ops for a dead head. the 14.4 option to 15.5 is only for lineholders. Scheduling cannot put something on your line that is 13.5 hours it has to be 13 hours 29 minutes or less. Heard it from their mouths! (Maestro wont let them do it anyways, supposedly) |
To all potential comair furloughees... I just jumpseated on Lyxn out of den and the two FAs working would easily make top 10 at comair. So Im thinkin about applying...
and thanks for the ride guys |
