I think it was awesome. Before I got this job I was traveling in Europe and had one while I was there. Got rid of it because i thought I had to. Looks like it's coming back, it doesn't say "no Mohawks" in the ops manual does it?

Here a new theory for everyone about the 900's(I Know sore subject but this one makes sense sort of)

Pinnacle is currently still taking deliveries of their initial 900's order for delta.

Freedom 900's will be removed from service and not transfered to another DCI carrier. Yet. They will be put in temporary storage. Reason is, Delta doesn't want to transfer the aircraft from freedom until they know for sure it is a done deal. Freedom CEO has vowed to challenge these a/c in court so it isnt a matter of if but when a lawsuit will be filed. (remember it took a while for the erj lawsuit to be filed and everyone thought it didnt exist) Delta doesnt want the expense of transferring these a/c only to have to transfer them back a few months later if Freedom wins another injunction or court case.

The next part of the plan is already verified by Delta's schedules posted on DeltaNet. Comair moves our current 900's up to JFK to cover the current 7 a/c worth of flying that freedom is doing now. Pinnacle with their current deliveries still to come is being moved up to cvg to cover the absence of comair.

Once any issues related to the Freedom 900's are resolved and no legal roadblocks exist Delta will award the Freedom 900's.(hopefully to comair again)

This makes sense so far because Freedoms a/c were supposed to begin their transfer to Comair this month. These a/c are still coming out of service over the next two months yet no press release has been issued by delta or anyone else as to where these a/c will go.

Theory Rumor whatever but at least it has some logic to it.

I think the new deal that Delta and Pinnacle reached was that the rest of the 7 aircraft for them from the factory was to be deferred until sometime 2009.
If you look at the fleet numbers on the web for each DCI carrier, it shows Freedom down (3) 900s and Pinnacle up (3) 900s in October. I don't think they are going into storage, I think they are going to Pinnacle.

They will still operate 16 a/c for delta at some point. There is no reason those A/C can't be brought on earlier?

Although I see what your saying. They may just end up taking freedoms 7 current 900's to complete their agreement for 16 a/c.

That would also make sense considering the new contract Delta/NWA pilots signed limited the number of 76 seaters to 120 and that number is already reached.

So 7 Pinnacle deliveries never occur and Delta's 7 deliveries slated for freedom never occur either. Makes alot more sense than what I had heard.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. Question is, why was Delta stupid enough to "award" them in the first place?

Nice logic, but you forgot to mention that we are now downgrading captains, displacing people and possibly furlough...:rolleyes:

It was depressing last thursday looking at the remote lot behind the trailers. There were 12 aircraft out there on a Thursday + 6 at the hanger in CVG. On Friday morning there were 20 Comair aircraft in remote and 5 at the hanger. Both weekdays.

Our loads last week were horrible. People are trying to make the argument that we are going into a slow season. I agree. Kids are back in school and things usually slow down about now until just before Thanksgiving. Now look at it this way. Almost every airline in the country has started cutbacks in August or September anywhere between 10 and 15%. So to see such light loads when we are operating without a quarter of our fleet is scary.

My last three day trip had no more than 52 folks on the 900 and 36 on the 70.
