Default Hawaiian Air alleges Mesa CFO trashed evidence

Ohoh. This doesn't look good. If they can show the CFO acted in this manner, it blows any credibility Mesa may have had in the lawsuit brought by Hawaiian and Aloha. If so, there will be mega settlements (probably out of court)- this combined with a losing prospect in China, soaring pilot attrition... well I am thinking the tinnitus I thought I had is actually the far-off ding-dong proclaiming the witch is dead.

Hawaiian Airlines has filed documents in its lawsuit against Mesa Air Group over the startup of interisland carrier go! alleging that Mesa's chief financial officer destroyed evidence on three computers related to the case. The lawsuit, scheduled for trial on Sept. 25 before U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Robert Faris, contends that Mesa violated a confidentiality agreement by using proprietary information, gathered as a potential investor during Hawaiian Airlines' bank-ruptcy, for its interisland operation.

Run away!!! Run away!!! The only people who will be damaged in this case are the employees. The scumbag upper-crust has already made millions... and they will sleeze their way out of any jail time, if there was any to be had to begin with. I think most of this stuff is civil anyhow. Best of luck to my brothers and sisters... the message is clearer now than ever: get out while the gettin's good.

Thoughts? (Play nice and keep MAG pilot bashing to a minimum please)

You're right that it's the employees who are gonna get screwed. And that's a friggin shame...cuz this is purely an executive-level issue. More than likely no one's going to jail (as much as some of us would love this). Hopefully Mesa's forced to pay a big wad of cash...though I don't think that's likely either. Go might leave Hawaii...but that doesn't matter cuz they're losing money big time anyway. JO will somehow justify that to the shareholders rather than admit that he didn't know how to do business in Hawaii and got his butt kicked by Hawaiian and Aloha.
