Default AWAC Question

I have a training date set for the 19 with Rebuplic. Got a call today from AWAC. They want to fly me out tomorrow for a Wednesday interview. I live in Philadelphia so I am leaning towards AWAC, b/c of the base. Whats the movment like there. What are current upgrade times. Whats with ALPA's grievance against AWAC.

Forgot to mention that my Republic class is for Chautauqua. Tried to get Republic for the PHL base, no luck!

Don't think about the ALPA grievance. Not a factor in your decision.

If you live in PHL you can do a lot worse than AWAC. Living in domicile is huge and AWAC's biggest domicile is PHL.

Nothing wrong with RAH, but if you can get more than one offer I would seriously consider AWAC. Almost anyone will tell you that being in your preferred living situation makes the airline world a whole 'nuther ballgame.

Upgrades are about 3 years or so right now at AWAC. YMMV. I was 3.5. Last year it was 2.5.

Living in domicile is priceless. End of discussion.

Thanks SABB. How hard is it to hold PHL as a new hire?

I got PHL right out of training (hired in June). I live in Philly also- you can"t beat living in base. Good luck.

Living in PHL, your QOL will be excellent at AWAC...and there is lots of open time available in PHL. As a RSV picking up opentime is at the discretion of crew scheduling (even moreso than lineholders) but you might be able to make some extra $$$ easily if interested.

RAH is a great, growing company with fast upgrades and a decent contract, but I think you'd be better served (if you have a choice) going with AWAC for PHL than CHQ and being forced into commuting to BUF/SDF/IND/STL/CMH, or God forbid, CRP for the CRJ.

How long was it between sending in your resume and getting a call for an interview?
