Default ASA Training Questions

I just hired on with ASA and was wondering if their is anything I could start studying or preparing for? I am moving to Atlanta from Dallas so what is it like there? How much do you get paid while in training? What is training like? Any info would be appreciated...thanks

How did ASA's page on this site get updated from hiring 32/month to Not Hiring!? I'm just curious since that's where I really would like to be in the next couple months. Their website hasn't changed yet, so I'm just wondering. Thanks for any info.

I also live in the Dallas area, and I am hoping to interview with the regionals next spring. ASA is at the top of my list, so I was wondering, are you moving by choice or did ASA require relocation. I have been under the impression that they allow commuting, so being a fellow big "D" native, I can appreciate your situation, and as someone hoping to be in your position shortly, I would love to get your outlook on moving vs. commuting regarding being from Dallas and working for ASA.

ASA was hiring like crazy until the beginning of Nov. I think they are waiting to see what will happen with Delta and also because the holidays are here. I have heard they are going to start hiring again probably in Feb. I have been put into a pool and it looks like Jan or Feb is when I will get a class date. I interviewed in October. I am single and will probably move to Altanta to make things easier. The commute will be a little tough since so many ASA and Delta people were originally based here and they have more senority. This is just the word i have recieved. Guess we will find out...

Forgive my ignorance with this next question. I am not totally familiar with how things work with the regionals, so here goes. Why such a long delay between the time you interviewed, and the time that you class date will be? Again, if this is something obvious forgive me, but that's why I read this forum.

ASA was sold to Skywest and their are new order planes coming in so they are trying to sort where those are going. Also, they are waiting to see what will happen with Delta just like Chautauqua (spelling?) and Skywest are doing. Then the holidays are here and it costs more to put you up in a hotel during training in Nov-Dec. So that is why they are holding off training and hiring into a pool. Probably some other reasons that i do not know about as well. PM me CJ and I have some sites you can check out that more ASA guys are on.

I'm not sure why, but the system will not allow me to PM you for some reason. If you would be so kind, please forward said sites to my e-mail address listed under my profile. I am sorry for the inconvenience.

Details of the changes in the PM system are included in the Announcements at the top of each forum.

http://forums.airlinepilotcentral.co...cement.php?f=3

The short answer is that a user must have 25 "quality" posts in order to use the system. (thank the spammers for screwing that up)

You may wish to use any IM system, including Skype, if you're below that threshold.

flyinhigh6165, when did you interview in October? I interviewed in late October too with a guy that was a CFI in Texas. Just wondering if it was you. Still anxiously waiting on a class date!
