Default Regionals based in BOS

Right now is American Eagle and Big Sky the only regionals based out of BOS? I've heard Comair and Colgan could eventually be based there (If Colgan loses outstation basing). Any others?

What do you mean by base? Crew base, hub, focus city, HQ...?

For Comair, it is a focus city. Most likely not going to be a crew base anytime soon

I'm interested in crew bases. Comair in BOS as a crew base was just a rumor I heard.

I really would like to see Colgan open a base in BOS. I dont know why they dont, it seems like it would be a no brainer. I was just hired by Colgan and have been told that getting PVD or MHT are next to impossible to get. So, BOS would be great, but who knows. BOS would be better than PVD or MHT anyway. Plus, cost of living is high there which is good for me considering I just bought a house not far from the city, so hopefully not to many people would want it.

Supposedly the outstation basing is going away eventually and BOS will become one of the pilot bases along with IAD, IAH, EWR, and LGA.

This rumor has been going around for years, though, as I understand it. I want it just as much as everyone, if for no other reason than they would have to start paying us per diem. It's somewhat unbelievable that they don't pay it unless you overnight, but that's another story entirely.

I noticed you didn't list PIT in the list... if this hypothetical shift to hub bases happens, will PIT become just an outstation? It seems like it is dying off rapidly anyway...

I suppose PIT could be one of the bases. The ones I mentioned I found reading another forum. I guess we won't know for sure what the actual bases may be until they announce them. And for all we know outstation may stick around for a bit.
