Not correct

The way that you do training has more to due with the timing of when the aircraft came into service (ie: the 200 was the first to be flown at your particular airline, then they got 700's and then 900's).

So it is cheaper to have the training set up that way, sine they already had a 200 training program, they just made a differences training so you could move up to the 700. Go-jet(there the only airline i know who exclusively has 700's) only has 700's so they most likely don't have a 200 program, just a 700 program.

They could develop an initial program for the 700, but you would have to get it certified and the such by the FAA, so it is a money and time issue.

No, you can do your baseline qualification on any of the three, and then complete difference training for any of the others. Most airlines seem to use the 200 as the baseline, since that's what their training programs were originally set up for, and there are more buttons to push on the 200.

The CRJ type does not cover the Challenger, but challenger training would be a breeze for a 200 qualified pilot.

not correct, you can do initial type rating on any of the variants. They did 700 initial at PSA for a few months when i worked there because they were short qualified pilots, also I imagine GOJETS has to do all their training just on the 700 cause that's the only aircraft they have. It is all up to the operator and the POI.

Eagle is another -700 only operator (thanks for lumping me in with GoJet ). Our program covers the 700 exclusively and we were told from day one that we could do differences for the 900 eventually but never for the 200 because of the way the type rating works.

Jeez, I said someone could correct me, not EVERYONE, damn.... anyway I'm just repeating what a check airmen told me as I was getting my -700 line check.

Sorry man! Eagle is a good place and is in no way near the category Gojets is in.
