From my experience flying both aircraft - I'd have to say the ERJ (LR's) were always the more likely of the two to be weight-restricted...haven't kicked a pax off the -200 yet, as opposed to the many that found themselves walking when I had been in the 145. Now I know the XR's are stronger birds, but I'd be hard-pressed to believe they don't sometimes have issues as well...
BTW, the -200 takes a bird on the beak very well...as I found out last night going into ORD!! Poor guy - nothing now but a has-been splatter ;-P

I've been at XJT since the 1st XR was delivered, longer actually but that's besides the point. Believe it or not, I had never been or heard of any weight restrictions on the XR. That was until a few months ago. But it took 50 pax, loaded bags w/heavies, a long flight to YYT at Cat 2 mins with 2 alternates, one of which was halfway back to EWR.
