Flow is going to move up to probably a year but may not be the percentage. Do not know about the contract and flow but it is being worked on. There is about 120 pilots hired now, that would be about 6 months in the right seat. Start saving if you plan to flow up because you will be at first year pay again!

That whole paying for hotels in MSP during training sucks but it sounds like half the majors including NWA right now are doing the SAME thing...and for almost the same pay ($30 an hour). The good thing is that you receive 24 hour per diem for about 40 days in YUL. This helps those ludicrous paychecks they are sending out.
On the whole I am pleased with the company on most things....the one thing I am not though is a very BIG thing...or maybe I should say little...my paycheck. This past month I had 20 days off but of the 10 days flying and 35 hours I put in from the left seat I received 0 hours of CA pay. The explanation I received from the Chief pilot was that the hours flown from the left seat would be compensated as such...but the hours sitting at home were going to be comp'd at FO pay....another words he says I should have been paid 35 hours CA rate and 40 hours FO to finish the 75 hour guarentee. Although this is still BS!! I didn't even receive that. All I can say is $500 - $600 checks every 2 weeks just doesn't pay the bills PERIOD. :( |

Refuse to fly left seat until they pay you left seat wages... THE WHOLE MONTH! |
The major problem I have is the deception that I feel took place. Most of the ppl flying at CP have a wife and kids to support. We all have bills that are more than first year FO pay can pay. EVERYONE who took this job had to weigh the pros and cons. We were told that we would be CA's (possibly checkairmen depending on the class) and we all were told to expect CA pay day one of class. I truly believe that they NEVER had any intentions of keeping these promises. Then week 2 of class we are told that we are being paid at year 1 FO pay and can expect CA pay once in IOE??? This again is a promise that will NOT be kept. I can attest these broken promises as I have been working here since June and still havent recieved 1 hour of CA pay although I have flown close to 50 hours as such.
I have also heard they will make it up on the following months check...didn't happen for the time I flew in August....and September make up check has come and gone. I think everyone that can should attend the union meeting. I think it is tomorrow? Details if you have them. If I had made this many lies about my resume in the interview you think it would be ok with them. When anyone is thinking of taking a job at least they should expect is too be told the truth. If they didn't intend to be paying CA pay until your out holding a line then they SHOULD have said this when asked in the interview. I REALLY don't like being lied too....Especially knowingly. To sit there and look me in the eye and deceive me knowing that you are putting my family on the line in regards to this pay really upset me. :( |

No need to take such abuse if you have payments to make, especially now that every Regional and most Majors are hiring. |
Hey M the meeting is at 6 tomorrow. I am on RSV but if they don't use me I will be at the meeting. Call me if you need a ride from the airport.

We met with the Northwest union tonight, they represent us, and expressed out frustrations. Nothing really got resolved, just putting plans together to file all of our grievances. About 20-25 compass pilots showed up and many were pretty upset about all the pay issues we’re dealing with. The main topics discussed about were: First, CA pay was negotiated to begin at the start of IOE. Second, working on grievences for CA pay and check airmen letter. Third, trying to resolve the training contract issues. The one thing they didn’t initially bring up was any changes to the flow thru, we asked, and they said really nothing about it. They said there were some negotiating about Mesaba and Compass on percentages, but other than that they were pretty vague. So I don’t know where people are getting these rumors about changes to the flow thru. It would be great to know where people are hearing these rumors and if it’s from a good source.

Just got my interview package and noticed they didn't make arrangements for me to fly to MSP. I live in an NWA served city and when I got a package from Mesaba, they did make those arrangements...so I am confused....can someone shed light on this for me?
