You worked the ramp in CVG? But I used to work the ramp (and tower) in CVG.

Yes, CVG-MCO usually required a stop somewhere in between to get back and forth. But I've heard from many that MCO-JFK is a cinch

Jumpseated out of MCO once...won't ever do it again!

But come to think of it - I non-revved as a Rampie many times out of MCO and never had a problem - and that was even limited to CAL only...Hmm...?

Never did a flight without someone or two in the jumpseat, not as easy as you think.

I was gonna say...the couple times I've jumped outta the NYC area have always been up front. I'd love to know where this easy "Huge metropolitan area to large vacation area" commuting rumor is starting at...

Everyone trains there. There's more flight training going on in Central Florida than anywhere else in the world and people have usually been there for awhile before getting hired with a regional and don't feel like moving.

Forget it - Home for me is NYC - I could save a ton of money every month by commuting out of LGA/JFK, but I wasn't born yesterday, so I know that is pretty much a pipe-dream. Forget about jumpseating anywhere out of NYC, much less to another Hub or Vaca spot...

You betcha! I was there for only a few months...August '98 to December '98. I worked all four zones...red, blue, green and yellow if I recall correctly. At least that's how they were characterized then. I loved the 8:00 am & 6:00pm pushes. Especially, the 6:00 push. Talk about organized chaos.

As far as the stop in between, there was one. The flight, which I usually got, was RJ-200 service from CVG-BHM-MCO. MCO-PBI, at that time, was the "Bro", and visa verse when heading back. However, they use to have a non-stop from CVG to MCO using the 200. Not sure if that particular flight still exist.

Flew through CVG on Comair last October on my way to ORD from RSW to visit my youngest sister. Wow, what a difference a few years make in terms of how the Comair terminal looks now.
