Yeah I did the CRJ course and fly the ATR now. The transition to the 700 will be cake.

What Banshee365 did not mention is that there is a guy with 1yr 7mo seniority @ ASA who just got on the preliminary for Captain... But, the final should go to a guy who is 2 year and 6 months. Minimums will drop again soon and two year upgrades will start popping soon. Look in the spring-summer ramp up, its going to get crazy.

It'll only going to get better... or worse. However you look at it.

Are they going to be there on Saturday? The site I looked at didn't mention them being there, so I wasn't considering going too much. It looked like most of the airiines going to be there were going to be looking for way more hours (and turbine time) that I don't have yet.

go to the job fair in Miami if you can, if you ahve the mins for ASA, then just apply and they should get back to you the same day. Job fairs are good, i went to the one here in ATL back in May to see what each airline had to offer, got about 7 interviews out of the deal, went to two, and got hired at ASA which was one of my top choices, and here i am , if the TA goes through things are going to get pretty good around here, but regardless go to the fair for the experience and they may interview you on teh spot if you have the flight times. good luck!

I could apply at any regional in US with my times but family health reasons limit me a bit in wanting to be near enough to home to visit them frequently. ASA would be a good fit out of ATL...a couple of hours drive and I'd be home. I kind of held out with a good deal to instruct a bit longer to pay some bills to get the magic 1000TT and make me eligible for Republic as well.

Well I work as a flight instructor at WMU, got 50% off on the cost of our Jet Course, which is a CL-65 sim no less, and I just got hired at ASA with 402/52 hours. So if you can find some way to get a deal on the jet course I would say go for it, because ASA loves (i.e. PREFERS) you to have jet simulator/glass cockpit time.
