Republic
Republic guys out there-
Part 91 guy looking to come over to the 121 side. 1200TT/400 ME, SIC type.
1)Is there any diff between the E170 RW and S5? I realize the obvious (bases, call sign, paintjob), but is the QOL/schedules better at one or the other?
1a)Would anyone be comforatable sending me some examples of the lines/trips?
2)What is the upgrade running on thr 170 right now?
3)Would I be interviewing for a class date this year?

1)Judging by the republicpilots.org guys there doesn't seem to be much of a difference.
2)check APC's page on it it seems to be accurate. Remember though Republic, Shuttle, and Chautauqua are all on a master seniority list. If a 145 CA slot opens you can take it when it's your turn regardless of what aircraft you are currently in. So upgrade time just depends on how long you plan on holding out for. It varies slightly. I flew with a captain yesterday, been a captain for 1.5years, who upgraded to the 145 in 1yr 10 months. I flew with a 14 CA today who upgraded right at two years. You can either take the 145 or hold out for the 175.
Some people say things like "Well I don't want to fly a CRJ or ERJ" and that's their choice. But I'm here for the money and if an upgrade comes along I'll take it. There's no reason to hold out unless you plan on staying here as a lifer. Get the upgrade, get your nice pay raise and PIC hours, then hit the road if that's your plan.

Thats likely to slow just a bit as there has been quite a bit of hiring this past year. But ya never know.
As far as whether you would be interviewing for a class this year or not, hard to tell, I am in a Shuttle Class on 11/27 and I am pretty certain there is a republic class starting that same date. THey are also starting parallel classes next week for Shuttle and republic. There very well may be more classes starting in Dec but I havent run across anyone yet that has been assigned to one. I have no idea if the holidays will effect how and when they start new classes. There are several threads that have run in the past few weeks detailing what the interview is like, just use the search function.

Could anyone PM me/email me so I could see some examples of the lines and trips? They don't have to be for the current month, just curious what the schedule would be like.
Which base is the most junior at RW (170/175)?
Same question with S5(170)?

RW is PHL by a long way. 80% of newhires are going there and moving within 3 months. You can expect a stint in PHL unless you are the old dude.
S5 is probably IND right now, but far more balanced than RW is. ATL is the most senior but still people are getting it shortly after training. DEN isn't working that way on the RW side, expect 6-9 months for DEN.
