It is part of the ALPA contract. Read it. Every pilot at Compass is bound by it, that is why the separate sheet of paper was not required to be signed. Trust me, they didn't tell us not to sign it out of the goodness of their hearts.

No, like I said - by being on property and thus represented by ALPA, whatever is in the ALPA contract is what a pilot is governed by. In this example, there is mention of the training contract at $12K in the ALPA contract.

Mind you...I think it'd be much harder for the company to go after you for their 12k when it's just part of a CBA and the individual pilot didn't sign anything.

not to change the subject but what is the average upgrade time that they are telling you in the interview, is it pretty fast if you have as I do around 2600 hours an ATP and jet type rating or am I still pretty low time for them.

They're now hiring for seniority numbers over 180, and the intent is to staff the 36 ordered airplanes with 360 pilots, which means your upgrade would be completely dependent on attrition. Could be another 2 years until the first guys start flowing to NWA, assuming that happens. Long time to spend on our crappy FO wages.

It's over 180 now? I interviewed a couple weeks ago and they were telling us ~150 range.

Yeah because you've got to figure that someone who interviews today probably won't get a class until 4 weeks from now because of the background check. So, 4 weeks from today could be 180 (I haven't seen an updated list yet to project #'s). But, if other things besides the PIC interest you in CPS, I'd say go for it because being #200 or less probably still gives you a good shot at the left seat by DEC08 because you've got to figure guys will leave considering the hiring that is going on elsewhere.
