Exclamation Looking for ONT Crashpad

My first day of reserve in ONT with XJT starts at o'dark:30, Wenesday. Does anyone know of any good crashpads? Also, are there are any ads on the bulletin boards in the crew room. I'm going to try and jumpseat up there tomorrow, and look around.

Of course my IOE took me through, IAH, EWR, CLE and SAT, but I have yet to set foot in ONT....

There a some UPS F/O's sharing a room at the Red Roof. That's pretty hard core, but first year pay is first year pay.

I would suggest you retreat to the Red Roof Inn, and explore your options. I have a van I live in, when I do reserve. If you think you'll be commuting to ONT for a while, an RV might not be a bad choice.

I have often thought about the RV thing. At least you have something to sell when you're done, instead of just throwing away rent.

Where do you park it?

On the street where I'm there, at ops when I'm not.

Go to www.expressjetpilots.com/the-pipe and go to the crash pad section. You will find a couple of postings for crashpads in ONT. Most cost between 200 and 250 a month. I would even offer a spot at ours but, we are full. There are a couple of postings in the crew room in ONT. Some are shared houses, others apartments. As a side note you will need to have a car unless you plan on staying at a hotel close to the airport. The public transportation is fine but not a lot to do without a car to get around. If so the Red roof Inn is your best bet. If you are planning on living down here then you will have some additional options. If you need any additional info post it on here or PM me.

Whoa, whoa, back the truck up. You're saying there are first year UPS guys in Ontario? And if so, can you get me an interview?
