the only way skywest will be able to hire 1000+ pilots is to raise the pay rates which would cause even more pilots from mesa to jump ship, ultimately shuting down mesa and giving J.O the big one finger salute!

Some of the....well lets call them less than desirable carriers are going to really start facing some shortages just trying to fly the contracts they have......

Herc I hope your prediction is right because if thats the case QOL and compensation should go up for all

Does anyone have any information about the flowthrough part of this agreement?

This will be a codeshare, not a compass/mesaba type deal.

Not a chance of flowthrough. If you have the quals and work for this "fictional" airline, you won't have a leg up on any other applicants. The SWA hiring system has no sure pattern or reason for doing what it does. I wouldn't expect this to change that.

How about y'all buy out mesa?

Now that I think about it, I figure the stock buyback was a way to celebrate keeping the union out. They'll probably sell it some time soon to pay for the gambling, drinking and ... like the Vikings had on their party boat a few years back! I just hope the girls are over 18! SkyWest Management Gone Wild! I bet those guys are still congratulating each other!

ALL incorrect, I figured it out.... Free turkeys for everyone! That's the big news.

ghilis101 11-14-2007 11:24 PM

haha are they still giving out those $15 turkey checks? dont spend it all in one place

$10 coupons. A nice gesture considering 11,000 employees at $10 per employee. We also got a cooler with the SkyWest emblem on it for our 35th Anniversary. Then they gave us bag tags that light up!
