Comair parking CRJ's?
#1
Hey whats up guys...
The airport where I work has a Bombardier repair center with CRJ's coming in and out all the time. Comair doesnt come in all that often and I was surprised when they did. Well after a few weeks these three jets just sat parked outside with the wheel pants put on (which seems to indicate that they will be parked for awhile; this is what Independence did when they parked all of theirs here, CKB).
Anyone here know anything?? I noticed on Flightaware today that some more are coming in today.
By the way they are the 100 model, so maybe they are just getting rid of those, and Delta Connection wasnt painted on the side, otherwise they had Delta colors and had Comair callsigns.
Just thought I'd put the word out; it kinda sparked my interest now that more are coming.

When I was on reserve back last spring I ferried a piece of junk 100 series model to OKC for it's final flight with Comair. The guy taking the plane at the FBO said it was going to Chautauqua, not sure how true that was or not. I think he wanted to get a rise out of the captain, and it sure worked. I wouldn't be surprised if its flying in China for JO.

As to them going to RP, I thought they were only getting ex-Independence Air planes.
In the past, when we were losing the airplanes, they were being ferried to Tuscon, AZ to be deserted (haha, get it, DESERTed).
The flight today was 9641, indeed 7171 being transferred, though. Not sure why they're using CKB, other than the fact that Heavy Checks are performed in CKB.

That was 7171 getting ready for its transfer flight.

Comair has got a handful of 100's that are nearing their cycle limit. I think the number was 6-8 or something like that. Not to mention the 14 that are going to make room for the 90's. There are a few parked out side of the GO in CVG that are waiting to be shipped elsewhere to another DCI carrier.
I know management was trying to convince DL to keep the ones that are being traded, but there are hardly enough pilots to fly what we have now!

Hardly enough pilots? Are you serious? I've flown about 7 hours so far in November and have several friends who have flown as much or not at all so far this month. I know that pilots are flying more at the CVG base, maybe this new vacancy bid for 50 FOs at CVG will help out. Not to mention that they need to do some serious upgrading.
