Default Mesaba interview insights

I'm up for a Mesaba interview on Wednesday, if anyone has interviewed with them recently let me know how it was, I have used the gouges but also studied other suff. I would like to know as much as I can.

You will be fine. As long as you know good IFR procedures, have a good attitude, and just show them you really want it, then you should have no problem. Good luck!

Interviewed today, don't sweat it. I studied for over a month and it was not needed, very laid back and conversational. Some of the best advice I got from someone else was, "Go in, give a handshake, smile, and discuss flying." Study the red instrument oral ASA book and you will be golden on the ifr test and a few tech questions. Know airport markings and signs, and a few systems of the aircraft you are flying. Good luck!

Pray, pray hard.

Oh, and make make sure you latch the door to the sim.

May be a bit enigmatic, but if this is who I think it is, you'll get the joke.

Well I fly the Liberty XL2, so I'm guessing they will want to know a little bit about a "new" aircraft. I haven't flown a multi since Jan. so I think I need to study up on that a bit too.

I would deff. study the last mulit you flew and be familiar with all its systems. Keep in mind there is no HSI or RMI in the simulator, there is however a movable card ADF which will get some use during the evaluation.

I was there yesterday to...CloudPilot57 hit it right on! They really want to just see the real you and talk flying. Just know your basic IFR procedures and you will do just fine. Just a little hint on the sim...The throttle is the key to pitch control. Don't mess with the trim! Great group of people....I hope I get the job.

Interesting ... the examiner told me to not use the trim however I just didnt have it in me to leave the trim alone. With that said I had no problems applying basic rules of thumb and triming the plane off to maintain altitude and heading. The sim did feel like it had a slight turning tendancy and there was deff. some amount of wind turned on.

Yeah, I agree you had to make adjustments for wind. I was just able to dial it in perfect with power adjustments vs trim. It just worked out better for me no big deal. I say try both and see what works out for ya! Good Luck!
