Default Who uses a PDA?

Just a general question - Who here uses a PDA to record times etc. How useful do you think they are? I had one a long time ago thinking it would be great to keep my schedule straight with students etc - but didn't use it all that much when the time came. Its too old to use logbook pro or the likes so I'm stuck with the small paper log. What are your thoughts? Do you use it for much other than recording OOOI times and flights?

I used a PALM Tungsten T with, the "Captains Log"' program for a couple of trips but I then went back to the little black paper book.......

I use a PDA with APDL/logbook pro. Never used the paper book so i cant really compare. But i really like how it tracks everything+sync with logbook on PC.

Cool

I use logbook pro with a pda-smartphone (I-mate Jasjam) and so far I really like it. its easy to sync with the computer version and it has just enough functionality to make it useful. Its also nice cause you can pull up currency and 121/135 reports and see where you stand for the month/year.

I havent had much time to use it, but the time I have used it its been great. Even if you use paper you still need a backup in case it gets lost/stolen/destroyed. Nothing worse than trying to recreate a logbook from old reciepts....

On the other hand I do still use a paper logbook too...

I use the APDL on my Treo, and on a CLIE' before that. It has saved my A$$ several times, especially when Scheduling tried to get me do do something that would have put me over on a time reg. it also has features that allow me to track expenses, check as to whether or not a trip trade will work or not, maintain door codes etc. It's well worth what I paid for it. The one thing I'd like to see put on it is a revision tracker, or log.

And speaking of APDL. Has anyone noticed that it calculates rest based on scheduled block regardless of overblocking? Or am I just doing something wrong.

I don't know, I've never had that problem. you might want to go into your date and time preferences and see how you have the thing configured. if it is set up wrong, it can be a real mess!
